Captain Sully Movie October 4, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): Hollywood loves to make films about real life heroes. Nothing is more attractive than seeing an average Joe turning into the savior of hundreds on the big screen. Almost a year and a half back, former airline pilot Cheseley Sullenberger saved the lives of 155 passengers by landing his plane into the Hudson River.

U.S Airways Captain Sullenberger was at the controls of the plane when it started crashing. The veteran pilot showed amazing dexterity and maneuvered his aircraft towards the Hudson River where he belly-landed the plane. The water cushioned the passengers from the impact of the crash landing. Captain Sullenberger’s presence of mind was responsible for the safe return 155 U.S. Airways passengers.

Sources have revealed that Sullenberger has signed a movie deal with a top Hollywood studio that wants to make a movie about his remarkable feat. The movie will be based on the memoirs of Sullenberger, and how he managed to perform this remarkable feat in those gut wrenching three and half minutes.

Captain Sully released his Memoirs last October, which was named “Highest Duty: My Search for What Really matters”. The book was a runaway hit and now its movie adaptation has been finalized.

The soft-spoken aviator was initially reluctant about selling the rights of his story but he changed his mind after a little encouragement from actor and fellow-flier Harrison Ford. Sullenberger’s presence of mind saved the lives of 155 passengers and all the crew members aboard that flight and this movie will be an ode to this great hero, whom the nation will never forget.
