Captain Sully Movie Oct 4 (THAINDIAN NEWS) In January of 2009, US Airways Captain Chesley Sullenberger found himself in an extremely trying situation, and not only prevailed, but managed to save the lives of one hundred and fifty-five people, when he landed his crashing plane in the Hudson River.

Movie producers have now jumped on the chance to tell the Captain’s story. The heroic former airline pilot known as “Sully” has sold his story to Hollywood, and it will be made into the movie “Miracle on the Hudson”.

Based on Captain Sully’s memoir, “Highest Duty: My Search for What Really Matters” the movie is said to tell the story of his life, which led up to those moments which one man had to make split second decisions concerning so many lives. He hesitated to sell the movie rights, until actor Harrison Ford, who is also a pilot, met with him and convinced him that it was a good idea.

It was only three and a half minutes of his life. That is how long the ordeal over the Hudson River, and subsequent water landing lasted. Three minutes and thirty seconds which turned Captain Sully into a hero, and a celebrity. He and his wife, Lorrie will be consultants on the movie.
