This year’s lineup consists of a film from Mike Leigh and another from Woody Allen and a fresh film from Ridley Scott. Scott’s new film about Robin Hood, which stars Russell Crowe, will be launching this year’s festival, in keeping with a recent report.
Tim Burton, whose most recent film, ‘Alice in Wonderland’, is doing wonders at the box office around the globe, will be the head of the jury this year.
Russian and Asian films will be making their presence felt with films from Nikita Mikhalkov, Im Sang-soo and Lee Chang-dong included in the lineup. Actor and recent ‘Bond’ villain, Mathieu Amalric, is making his directorial debut with ‘Tournee.’
