tenorsFeb 11, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Canadian Tenors appeared on the “Oprah Winfrey Show” on Wednesday, Feb 10. The show had been recorded last week, but was aired only on Wednesday. The show was a great one, not only for the audience who enjoyed their performance thoroughly, but also for the singing quartet themselves, for they were in for a great surprise. They were joined in the show by Celine Dion, of whom, the Canadian Tenors admitted, they had been fans for a very long time. This was obviously a very special meeting for the Canadian Tenors at least, considering that they had never had the chance to meet the singing diva before this.

The Canadian Tenors had performed a rendition of the classic song “Hallelujah.” Not one from their own anthology, the song was first recorded by Leonard Cohen. Toward the end of the performance, the singing quartet, comprising Victor Micallef, Fraser Walters, Remigio Perreira and Clifton Murray, were joined by Celine Dion, who came up in the stage as part of the surprise planned for them and the audience. The rest of the song was sung by all five.

The performance in the “Oprah Winfrey Show” was recorded as part of a North American tour that will take the Canadian Tenors across 80 cities. This month seems to be full for the Canadian Tenors. Other than the appearance on the “Oprah Winfrey Show,” they are also scheduled to make an appearance on Dr. Phil on Feb 14, for a Valentine’s Day special show. Moreover, they have also been booked to perform in Dallas, at the NBA All-Star game, where they will be singing the “Stars and Spangles.”
