Canadian pop singer Shania Twain suffered a divorce in 2008 when her husband Mutt Lange left her for her best friend Marie-Anne Thiebaud. However, the singer now seems happier than ever after she got engaged to best friend’s former husband Frederic Thiebaud, 40.

A source close to Shania Twain reported that Frederic Thiebaud proposed to her nearly two months ago when the couple were in Switzerland. However, the news of their engagement caught media attention when the “Come on Over” singer was spotted with her engagement ring last week in New York. Shania Twain and Frederic Thiebaud were seen spending their holidays before in Canada and Florida. Initially, the couple insisted that they were just friends but in 2009, the pop singer admitted that she is seeing her best friend’s estranged husband. When asked about her beau, Shania Twain, reportedly, told a reputed media source that Frederic Thiebaud is a true gentleman and a lovely friend.

In her official website, the Canadian singer wrote that Frederic Thiebaud has been there with her through thick and thin and they became closer by being with each other in their ups and downs. The representative of Shania Twain has confirmed the couple’s engagement and said that couple will exchange vows soon. The Country Music Award-winning singer, reportedly, said that her engagement was done in a special way. Frederic Thiebaud proposed to the singer with an emerald-cut, three carat diamond ring, estimated to be worth $100,000. A source close to the couple reported that the singer’s ex-husband is aware of the engagement and he is happy for the bright new chapter in her life.
