Cameron Winklevoss Talks About ‘The Social Network’

Cameron WinklevossOct 3, (THAINDIAN NEWS) ‘The Social Network’ released this Friday and Facebook fans all over can now get an insider’s point of view to the social networking phenomenon. With the film receiving favorable reviews from the critics on the web so far and a good reception at the box office, the web has been abuzz with the names of the stars as well as the real life characters that they portray in the film. Cameron Winklevoss, on whom one of the important characters in the film is based recently spoke about the movie to the media. He called the movie ‘Nonfiction’ and said that David Fincher and Aaron Sorkin have done a great job of getting their facts right.

Reports suggest that the Winklevoss twins were among the first people who recognized Mark Zuckerberg’s talent and hired him to make a social networking website for Harvard students exclusively. The idea soon starts to grow and very soon Facebook was a hit on the web. Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss realized that Mark Zuckerberg might have stolen ideas from them after all and ran away with all the credits. Cameron Winklevoss who recently spoke about the film in an interview said that the fact that Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook have nothing to do with the movie speaks a lot about the film. He said that though he, his brother and business partner Divya Narendra had not much input to provide in the shooting of the film, he enjoyed seeing the process.

Cameron Winklevoss is also a professional athlete who has competed in the Olympic games. He also said that though initially he and his brother were not on Facebook but now they have their own accounts.
