Cameron Diaz makes sure that ‘Bad Teacher’ lives up to its name

And as the name suggests, she makes sure that she really is a bad teacher in the movie. Ideally teachers are idols for students and they emulate them also to quite an extent. However in this case, Cameron Diaz makes sure that there is nothing sugary about being a teacher.
Throughout the movie, Cameron makes a wide array of mistakes, that generally teachers wouldn’t make. She doesn’t bother to learn the names of her students and is also seen to smoke weed in the school premises, more specifically in the gym and the parking lot.
Cameron Diaz enacts the role of a 7th grade teacher Elizabeth Halsey in the movie. Teachers across the world are going to be amused and saddened by the portrayal of teachers in the movie. However the director and the script writer have tried their best to adhere to the current times and make the character of a 7th grade teacher ‘real’ and not totally ‘ideal and plastic’. However this is for sure, not going to go down well with all the teachers, who might feel that their noble professional has been insulted in the movie.
