‘Calle 13′ win big in the Latin Grammys

Las Vegas, Nov 11 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Latin Grammys was held at the Mandalay Bay center/resort in Las Vegas, Nev. on Thursday night. The night was all about the duo Calle 13. The group entered the Latin Grammy record book for most wins in one night.

The group picked up nine awards on the night to become the biggest winners in the history of the Latin Grammys. The group lost out on only one nomination on the event which was hosted by Cristián de la Fuente and Lucero. The only award that they failed to pick up but had nomination was “Best Male Vocal Pop Album” which went to Franco de Vita.

After picking the award, Franco on the lighter side told the crowd that, “Thank God Calle 13 isn’t in this round.”

Calle 13 performed their hit song “Latinoamérica” which earned them the Song of the Year.

Calle 13 is made up of two Puerto Rican stepbrothers. The group is one of the most successful in Latin America winning 19 Grammy awards in their career. The group picked the top award for the night which is the “Album of the Year.” The group won the award with their project “Latinoamerica.”
