jordan1Nepal, May 24, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Kathmandu’s Mount Everest, the highest mountain peak in the world, has seen many a record being made on its summits in the past, but this surely surpasses the rest. Jordan Romero, the 13-year-old boy from California has become the first in the world to reach to the top of Mount Everest at such a young age. By accomplishing this feat the teenager has broken the record previously held by Ming Kipa Sherpa, a 15 year old from Nepal.

Parents of Jordan Romero have said that the boy underwent rigorous training before his climb to the top of Mount Everest since he was nine years of age and his achievement has inspired adventure - loving students all over the world. However this is not the first time that Jordan Romero has made it to the top of a high peak. He had already climbed five peaks including Mt. Kilimanjaro. Now, the California teenager now has plans to climb the Vinson Massif in Antarctica, this marking his last climb to the top of the highest peak of any continent. It may sound unbelievable but Jordan Romero has already made it to the top of six of the highest peaks in the world.

The first person to hear about the climb was his mother whom Jordan Romero spoke to via a satellite phone. The teenager made the climb with his father, stepmother and three local Sherpas who served as guides on the route. With the climb made, the tough task now is to make a comeback considering that the road downhill is difficult and dangerous and has already claimed several lives in the past.
