bneverSacramento, California, July 15, (THAINDIAN NEWS) A California state lawmaker has put forward a proposal to convert the luxurious Neverland Ranch, the former home of the late King of Pop Michael Jackson into a state park. California Assemblyman Mike Davis has revealed to the media that whether the California Department of Parks and Recreation should take over the estate in Santa Barbara County is a matter that indeed needs to be taken into consideration.

According to Mike Davis, if the estate formerly owned by Michael Jackson is transformed into a state park then it would surely turn into a huge success as fans of the musical legend from all across the world would visit it. However, experts have expressed their reservations about how successful the plan would be if indeed it is implemented, as the budget deficit of the state remains at $19 billion. In an attempt to raise cash for the deficit, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger had earlier given the proposal that all the landmark buildings in the state should be sold off.

Meanwhile, legislator Mike Davis has also pointed out that purchasing Neverland Ranch all by itself might be impossible for the California Department of Parks and Recreation in the wake of the economic shortfall. As a result, a public-private partnership might be considered in this case, the state lawmaker further added. Although the venture remains in the budding stages at the moment, it has been reported that Mike Davis might introduce a bill or a resolution in this regard after the month long recess of the lawmakers next month.
