January 6th, 2010 - 4:45 pm ICT by ANILondon, Jan 6 (ANI): Proceedings on the three-decade-old illegal sex case against filmmaker Roman Polanski will start in California today.
The court will hear evidence against the Rosemary’s Baby director, reports the Daily Express.
Polanski, who was accused of raping a 13-year-old girl in 1977, later pleaded guilty to the charge of having illegal intercourse but fled the US to France in 1978 before he was about to be sentenced.
He was arrested in Zurich in September 2009, on a US warrant.
Polanski, 76, is currently serving house arrest in his luxury Swiss chalet. (ANI)
