Burton wants Downey Jr. in ‘Pinocchio’ film
January 8th, 2012 - 3:30 am ICT by IANSLos Angeles, Jan 8 (IANS) Director Tim Burton is keen on making a live-action version of “Pinocchio” and wants to cast Robert Downey Jr. in the film.
The movie would be based on a script by “Pushing Daisies” creator Bryan Fuller.
Burton wants Downey Jr. to play the role of Geppetto, reports hollywood.com.
In the age-old tale, Geppetto is the creator of Pinocchio, who dreams of becoming a “real boy”.
As of now, Burton is working on the finishing touches on his gothic drama “Dark Shadows”, due for release this summer. While Downey Jr., currently playing the title character in “Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows”, will be seen this summer reprising his role as Iron Man in “The Avengers”.
