Burt Reynolds undergoes heart bypass surgery

burt Los Angeles, Mar 4 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Noted actor Burt Reynolds underwent heart bypass surgery. His manager confirmed the news on Wednesday, and said that the actor is looking forward to a quick recovery in the confines of his Florida home. Last week he underwent quintuple bypass surgery.

“Mr. Reynolds has been released from a hospital in Florida in which he had a scheduled bypass operation. He wants to thank everyone for their good wishes and doctors plan on a speedy recovery,” Burt Reynolds’s manager Erik Kritzer said in a statement. However he trashed all reports, that had claimed that the actor had been rushed to the hospital in an emergency state. His manager also revealed that in 2009, the noted actor was enrolled in a drug rehabilitation clinic to fight his addiction to painkillers, that had been prescribed to him after his back surgery. When he was battling his addiction to painkillers, then he also went public about his crusade, and also asked the public to seek professional help if they were also battling such addictions.

Burt Reynolds has starred in “The Longest Yard,” “Smokey and the Bandit”, “Deliverance” and “Boogie Nights”. He had also won a Golden Globe for his performance in ‘Boogie Nights.’
