Buddy Holly to get star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

Los Angeles, Sept 7 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Today is the 75th birth anniversary of Buddy Holly. And today he is getting a very appropriate birthday gift in the form of a Hollywood Walk of Fame star. However he is not around to rejoice today as he died an untimely death in a plane crash at the young age of just 22 years. He was killed in that unfortunate crash on the 3rd of February 1959. The plane had an accident and the wreckage was found near Clear Lake in Iowa.

Buddy Holly’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame would be the 2447th star. At the ceremony, Buddy Holly’s widow Maria Elena Holly, Peter Asher, Gary Busey and Phil Everly would be the guests of honor at the ceremony and they would recount the life and the achievements of Buddy Holly.

Buddy Holly’s real name was Charles Hardin Holley and he was born on the 7th of September in 1936. His place of birth was Lubbock, which is located in Texas.

Buddy Holly gained a lot of critical acclaim with his hit songs such as “Not Fade Away,” “That’ll Be the Day,” and “Peggy Sue.”
