Bruce Springsteen smooches wife onstage at gala tribute for Tom HanksApril 29th, 2009 - 6:18 pm ICT by ANI
Washington, April 29 (ANI): Rumours of Bruce Springsteen romantically involved with a New Jersey woman have fallen flat after the star kissed his wife Patti Scialfa onstage at the recent Film Society of Lincoln Center Gala Tribute in honour of Tom Hanks.
The veteran rocker asked fans, “May I bring out my lovely wife?” before Patti slowly stepped out onstage in front of the cheering New York crowd.
He then kissed his wife of almost 18 years on the lips before performing ‘Philadelphia’, the Oscar-winning title song to the 1993 film that won Hanks his first Best Actor Academy Award, reports People magazine.
Springsteen later left the Alice Tully Hall stage with his better half with a hand on her back.
The singer defended his marriage with the E-Street bandmate after being accused of adultery.
In a statement, he said the pair’s “commitment to one another remains as strong as the day we were married.” (ANI)
