Bruce Springsteen Honored At Kennedy Center Honors 2009

bruce-springsteen-earlyDec 30, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The lovers of pop and rock swear by the musical talent and vocal skill of legendary artist Bruce Springsteen. The singer-composer has given the world a huge number of tracks that have inspired a lot of people to love music and beat depression. Recently, the maestro was given his due at the 32nd Kennedy Center Honors. The ceremony was held in Washington D.C. on Dec.6, 2009 and the program was shown on CBS on Dec 29.

It was a great event where many stalwarts of Hollywood and leading music artists were present. The artist was among the honorees but that was not all. Eminent country singer Jennifer Nettles paid tribute to him by playing a wonderful medley of some of his evergreen songs in succession. The audience was spellbound by her rendition and she did a good job of it. The president of U.S., Barack Obama and the First Lady Michelle Obama were present at the ceremony among others. The artist is likely to remember the evening for a long time.

Bruce Springsteen is one of the few artists whose music has transcended continental boundaries and his songs are liked by the people belonging to different generations. There were other stalwarts at the ceremony like ace actor Robert De Niro and actress Meryl Streep, who hogged limelight for sometime. However, Bruce Springsteen made his presence felt in spite of the dazzling stars around and the viewers had their eyes hooked to him throughout the evening. It mostly turned out to be a ceremony and an evening that is worth remembering.
