Nov. 9, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The new trailer for the upcoming movie ‘Brothers’, that will be releasing in the month of December 4, is now out and making the rounds of the popular circuit. The movie stars the “Spider-man” of the tinsel town, Tobey Maguire, in the forefront playing out the ever-responsible brother. The other lead actors include Natalie Portman and Jake Gyllenhaal.
The plot of the movie ‘Brothers’, revolves around Sam Cahill (Tobey Mcguire) and Tommy Cahill (Jake Gyllenhaal), two brothers who are as different as any siblings could ever be. Captain Sam is a Marine, married to Susan (his child hood sweetheart), played by Natalie Portman and has two daughters. On the other hand, Tommy just comes out of jail after serving his time and very efficiently slips into partying mood with Sam’s going away party being held. When Sam embarks on a mission, his Black hawk [chopper] is shot down in the mountainous regions of Afghanistan and he is assumed to be dead. The family responsibility shifts to Tommy’s shoulders, who then finds himself filing in for his brother. The movie has a very apt tag line which reads, “There are two side to every family”.
The movie has been directed by the Irish director, Jim Sheridan, who is best known for movies like, ‘My Left Foot’, ‘In The Name of The father’ and ‘In America’. Sheridon also has 6 academy Nominations to his credit. As for the writer of the movie, Susanne Bier, the Danish writer, director and producer has written the action/drama/war movie along with David Benioff, who has provided in for the screenplay.
