Nashville, Sep 3 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Brooks & Dunn called off their 2 decade old musical career with a splendid concert in Nashville. They had made a grand debut in 1991 with their song – ‘Brand New Man’ and ironically it was also the last song that they performed as a team.

The group was doing their Last Rodeo Tour and Nashville was the final spot for the concert. It was also the venue for a fundraiser for the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.

At the concert, they played to the crowd more than 20 of their No. 1 hits which included “Neon Moon,” “My Maria,” “Red Dirt Road” and “Boot Scootin’ Boogie”. There was also quite a furor when Reba McEntire made a very rare guest appearance during the song ‘Cowgirls Don’t Cry’.

The real reason for the split is far from clear and Brooks and Ronnie Dunn refused to shed any light on the matter. On the contrary they joked about the split and said that it was because of the fact that Dunn was jealous about Brooks’ cowboy hats. Whereas Brooks said that the split was happening because he gets weird ideas, which he wants to implement on his concerts.

To lighten up the mood of the audience, Kix Brooks said that, “This isn’t a funeral. We did show up to party.”
