Brooks and Dunn to split

Aug 12 (IBNS) Songwriters and singers Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn have decided to split after 19 years of most successful acts in music history.

The LA Times reported that the country music duo posted the news of their split on their website and ended a nearly two-decade long that was glorified with the sale of millions of records and concert tickets and a slew of awards.

Both Brooks and Dunn enjoyed success in the 1980’s but it was their partnership with a record company executive in 1990 that took their career to new heights.

During the partnership they released 10 studio albums, out of which two turned out to be greatest hits collections and a Christmas disc, all of which produced charted singles. Their third and the last compilation of hits is will be out on Sept. 9.

The duo was on top and bagged the Academy of Country Music awards from 1991 to 1997 and again from 2001 to 2008. They were also named entertainers of the year in 1995, 1996, and 2001.

Brooks and Dunn’s debut disc “Brand New Man” in 1992 won the album of the year for their as well as single of the year for “Boot Scootin’ Boogie” and “Believe” took the song of the year prize in 2005.
