The King of Pop, Michael Jackson is no more. At his memorial in Los Angeles, friends and family arrived to pay their last tributes to the undisputed superstar of Pop music. Amongst them was Brooke Shields, the famous Hollywood star who was also a very close friend of MJ.

With visible tears in her eyes, she went up the podium at the memorial and began reminiscing fond old memories regarding Michael. The audience present at the Staple Center listened keenly as Brooke went on about the special friendship between her and Jackson. She spoke about how both of them were in the spotlight from a very early age in life and how it had almost forced them into adulthood much earlier than normal. She also mentioned an incident when she tried to learn ‘Moonwalk’ from Michael but not with much success.

In fact in a forthcoming issue of the famous music magazine Rolling Stone it is learned that Brooke has mentioned that Michael had proposed marriage to her in more than one instance. To which she had replied, “You have me for the rest of your life, you don’t need to marry me, I’m going to go on do my own life and have my own marriage and my own kids and you’ll always have me.” She also goes on to add, “I think it made him relax.”

Talking about them Shields also mentioned that the media and the public always considered the both of them to be an “unlikely pair’ but that did not make any difference as she says that they “…. always seemed to revert to being little kids.” This purity was truly the essence of their friendship.
