Broderick to return with Broadway musical
June 18th, 2011 - 5:24 am ICT by IANSLondon, June 18 (IANS) Actor Matthew Broderick, last seen in the 2005 movie “The Producers”, is set to make a comeback to acting with a Broadway musical.
The song-and-dance actor will reunite with “The Producers” director Kathleen Marshall for “Nice Work if You Can Get It”, which will open in New York in spring next year.
“I am beyond thrilled to get to work with Matthew Broderick again and to bring Matthew back to Broadway in his first musical since ‘The Producers’. The chance to do a new musical comedy with timeless songs by the Gershwin brothers is just heavenly,” dailystar.co.uk quoted Marshall as saying.
Set in the 1920s, the musical features music of late composers George and Ira Gershwin.
