May 25 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The mother of screenwriter, Simon Monjack spoke out about the death of her son in an interview with ‘The Daily Mirror’. She says that her son died of a broken heart because he simply could not bear the loss of his wife, actress Brittany Murphy, who died last December. Linda, Monjack’s mother said that Simon never recovered from the death of his wife, the actress who starred in ‘8 Mile’. Simon Monjack passed away just five months after the loss of his wife.

Although his mother says he died of a broken heart, investigators believe that it could, indeed, have been heart related. They are suspicious that either Monjack had a heart attack, or took an accidental overdose. The chief coroner in the investigation stated that Monjack had a huge amount a medications beside his bed. Although the results from the autopsy are due back today, it could be as long as six weeks before the toxicology reports are in. The chief coroner, Ed Winter, said that they are investigating both possibilities as cause of death. “First, a heart attack and, second, an accidental overdose. There were no illicit drugs located - just prescription medications,” he added.

Linda agrees more with the heart issues. She told ‘The Daily Mirror’, “He’s had heart problems and been in deep distress since Brittany died. We think he has literally died of a broken heart. We think the heart problems were caused by the shock of Brittany’s death. She was the love of his life and he was the love of my life. He was so distressed.”
