The troubled pop star, who joined E! News anchor Ryan Seacrest on his Los Angeles radio show on Oct 31, defended her parenting skills and slammed her critics, grieving “how cruel world can be.”

The ‘Toxic’ singer criticised people for treating her unfairly during the ongoing coverage of her custody battle with former husband Kevin Federline

She told the American Idol host that she was trying her best to cope with the constant attention.

“I try not to let it get to me. You know, people talk. They say what they want at the end of the day. You just try to keep doing what you do. As long as you know what’s true, that’s all that matters,” E! Online quoted her, as saying.

On reports that she’s a bad mother, the 25-year-old said that she was doing the best job she could in raising her two sons Sean and Jayden.

“Like I said, people say what they want and do what they do. It’s sad how cruel our world can be. At the end of the day, you just have to know in your heart that you’re doing the best you can do,” she said.

Spears, who is currently promoting the release of her latest album Blackout, also spoke about her new studio release, reveling that her favourite track on the album was ‘Heaven on Earth.’

“I really like Heaven on Earth. I think it’s a cool track. It’s kind of different from all the other songs,” she said. (ANI)
