British girl Anysha Panesar defends her ‘America’s Perfect Teen’ crown

ani Sep 22 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Anysha Panesar, a Welsh has won America’s Most Perfect Teen contest in Florida.

The 16-year-old did not only get the crown but a lot of criticism as well. The Brit however is not bothered about the criticism that are flying in at her winning the title, maintaining that in every sport someone is going to criticize the winner.

She however said her critics were using the fact that she was a Brit as an excuse to criticize her. She said that, “In any sport or hobby you compete in you’re always going to get someone criticizing the winner. I think they used me being British as an excuse.”

Anysha won for herself a $20,000 scholarship to study Broadcasting and also took $2,000 as her prize money.

She believes the organizers of the contest looked at something more than looks in choosing the winner. She said the organizers were looking at what the girls wanted to do with their lives. She added that, “I tried to bring my personality to the stage and that’s what won them over.”

Anysha who confessed that she was bullied in school & said that pageants gave her the confidence she needed. And that confidence has already won her the Miss Teen Wales and she has also appeared on MTV’s My Super Sweet Sixteen.

Anysha plans to complete her A-level in Wales before she picks up her scholarship in the United States.
