charLos Angeles, May 15, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Roman Polanski case reached a new threshold on Friday when a British actress alleged that she was sexually abused by the director way back in the year 1982 when she was just 16 years old. Actress Charlotte Lewis addressed the media in the Los Angeles office of celebrity attorney Gloria Allred yesterday where she made the startling revelation.

In the press conference, the 42 year old actress revealed details of the accident which allegedly took place in the Paris apartment of the director in 1982, years prior to Charlotte Lewis’ appearance in Roman Polanski’s flick “Pirates”. The actress read from a prepared statement on Friday in which she claimed that despite being aware of the fact that she was then still a minor, the director forced himself on her in his apartment in Paris. Charlotte Lewis emphasized that Roman Polanski took advantage of her and since then she had been living with the after-effects of the traumatic experience that she had to go through. However, it still remains unsure whether the actress is likely to press charges against the Academy award-winning director although prosecutors are said to have met up with her, according to the spokesperson of the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office.

Roman Polanski is presently in a legal battle against extradition to the United States with respect to a sentencing in a 1977 case in which he was convicted for having sexual relationship with a 13 year old girl. While reacting to the claims made by the actress, the lawyers of the much acclaimed director have reportedly stated that they have no knowledge of the news conference held on Friday.
