British Actress Archie Panjabi Wins Her First Emmy For CBS Series “The Good Wife”

archieLos Angeles, Aug 30, (THAINDIAN NEWS) British actress Archie Panjabi added a new feather to her acting career last night at the Nokia Theater which was host to the much-coveted Emmy Awards 2010. The award ceremony reached its 62nd year on Sunday night and it was broadcast live on NBC which provided an opportunity to all its viewers to catch a glimpse of the moment of glory of their favorite stars. It was a night that the Indian born English actress would surely remember for the rest of her life as she was honored with the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series award for her impressive portrayal of the character of Kalinda Sharma in the popular CBS television series “The Good Wife.”

While responding to her win as the best supporting actress in a drama series, a visibly delighted Archie Panjabi told the reporters that when she started her work in England for the very first time, getting a job was like a dream come true. After all these years, the 38-year-old actress recalled that ultimately bagging an Emmy award was beyond her wildest dreams. At the same time, “The Good Wife” star also added that although she did not expect that the character that she played was an award-winning role, she believed that Kalinda Sharma would indeed be a great role to edge.

Apart from her appearance on the CBS series, Archie Panjabi is best known to have played major roles in widely-acclaimed movies such as “Bend It Like Beckham” as well as “East is East,” among others.
