Manitou Springs, Colorado, Oct. 29 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Briarhurst manor built by Dr. Bell back in 1874 was featured on ‘Ghost Hunters’ recently, to confirm if the rumors, about the manor being haunted is true or not: the result coming out in positive. The manor, along with the restaurant was featured on the Sci-Fi network’s famous series, with the hosts being, Erik and Tammila Wright. Both of them opened up by welcoming the viewers and asking them to venture ahead if they had the guts, which apparently thousands of people did, tuning in to the show.
Erik came out with the result, that the manor was positively haunted, though there was nothing “negative or malevolent”, and added that, “Vases fly across the room, silverware spinning on plates, things grabbing you that you cant see”.
The manor was one of the sites which was featured in the last year’s Halloween contest of the show, and was investigated long before it was actually aired. Tammila and her husband Erick are the manor’s directors of historic and paranormal research.
The first instance of the manor being haunted came out in 1886 itself, when the first home built in 1874 burnt down in the year 1886, followed by the second home being built in 1888. Later on, after 1938, it became a dining restaurant [still in operation today]. There are a number of haunted stories on the manor’s official site including stories about, how the tourists felt things crawling up behind them, bumping into invisible things, seeing a lady in a Victorian dress standing at the windows, and a little baby reaching out to something the others couldn’t see.
