May 27, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Brett Michaels who recently underwent treatment for brain hemorrhage made a surprise guest performance at the American Idol 2010 finale. The Poison frontman accompanied the ladies’ favorite 2nd runner up Casey James for the hit ballad ‘Every Rose Has Its Thorn’. For all those who had heartbreaks in high school, the song sent them to flashback mode. Casey James started the song and Brett Michaels joined midway which came as a surprise for the already star struck fans at the American Idol 2010 finale.

The crowd at the Nokia Theatre in downtown LA were subject to a starry evening with the likes of Christina Aguilera and Janet Jackson performing live. Among the duets with the participants like Bee Gees, the highlight still was Bret Michaels who was in the hospital even a week ago for a ‘warning stroke’. The rock star who also won the Celebrity Apprentice 2010, looked healthy and in form. Among other remarkable duets on the show, Canadian star Alanis Morisette’s performance alongside Crystal Bowersox and winner Lee Dewyze’s song with Chicago Band made the crowd sway. Stars including Alice Cooper and Daryll Hall also sang alongside the top 12 in the finale.

Apart from the singing, the American Idol finale gave its farewell to Simon Cowell. Ex-judge of American Idol Paula Abdul took his place in the finale and went onstage to deliver a touching speech in memory of her co-judge who was a part of American Idol for the last 9 seasons. All precious winners paid tribute the the most critically accurate and blatant star judge of American Idol whose name became synonymous with the Brand itself.
