Jan 27 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Rocker Bret Michaels has once again overcome incredible odds after being released from the hospital after undergoing heart surgery just three days ago to repair a hole in his heart. He is expected to resume his normal activities within weeks.

According to Dr Mansour Assad who works at the St Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona, “Bret’s procedure had excellent results. Because of the successful outcome and Bret’s determination, I believe he will be able to return to normal activity within weeks.”

Bret came close to losing his life when a brain hemorrhage caused him to lose consciousness and be placed in a hospital in April. He also suffered a cardiac catherization during that time, and it was then that doctors found he had a hole in his heart- a condition which he’d had since birth, but remained undiscovered until the hemorrhage.

Bret shared his feeling before the heart surgery with ‘Life & Style’, “Physically, I’ve been through more blood tests than I care to mention. Mentally, I’ve talked to my daughters about it. I said I have to go through this operation, but everything is going to be great.” Kristi Gibson, the mother of Bret’s children and his fiance has been by his side through out the whole experience.
