Phoenix, Jan 27 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Bret Michaels was released from hospital after a major heart surgery on Monday. The star had a hole-in-heart surgery at the St. Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix.

The USmagazine.com reported that doctors have declared the procedure a success and they were hopeful the 47-year-old will be back to his former self in a week.

Dr. Mansour Assad was quoted by the website saying, “Bret’s procedure had excellent results. Because of the successful outcome and Bret’s determination, I believe he will be able to return to normal activity within weeks.”

Bret has been struggling with major health issues for sometime now. He had a life-threatening brain hemorrhage back in last April and doctors had to perform major surgery on him to correct the problem. Bret discovered that he had a problem with his heart when he had a cardiac catheterization. His heart condition was identified as patent foramen ovale (PFO) which doctors believe has been with him since he was born.

Bret told Life & Style before the operation that he had prepared himself mentally for the procedure. He said that he was carrying a positive attitude to the operating theater and urged his daughters to have similar belief.
