Brangelina donate $1m to Haiti quake relief

Washington, Jan 14 (ANI): Hollywood star couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have donated 1 million dollars to the emergency medical operation in earthquake-hit Haiti.
Thousands of people are feared dead after the 7.0 magnitude quake struck the Haitian capital Port-au-Prince.
Three strong aftershocks followed the quake, which has flattened numerous buildings in the vicinity,
“It is incredibly horrible to see a catastrophe of this size hit a people who have been suffering from extreme poverty, violence and unrest for so many decades,” People magazine quoted Jolie as saying.
“We understand the first response is critical to serve the immediate needs of countless people who are now displaced from their homes, are suffering trauma, and most require urgent care,” Pitt added.
The Jolie-Pitt Foundation is donating the funds to Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontiéres, whose three hospitals in Port-au-Prince were severely damaged, forcing the staff to work out of open-air hospitals. (ANI)
