brandy August 23, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): R & B Singer Brandy Norwood has managed to land herself in trouble for ‘failing to perform’.

She had reportedly signed a contract with DJ Marc Mysterio and his Stockholm based partners agreeing to put two 16 bar verses but did not come up with the goods. Mysterio claims that she had taken $10,000 for delivering but had apparently reneged on the deal. He further claims that they have lost $25,000 as a result and have now sued Brandy for $6 million claiming loss of income, loss of reputation as well as for inability to come up with an equal or better talent to replace her.

According to Marc Mysterion, Brandy’s manager told him that she was on the verge of signing a new deal with Universal who had been through all the features that had been lined up for her. However, they were not pleased with her deal with Mysterio which would have her rapping to a dance record. That is the reason why Brandy would have to back out of the contract, her manager explained.

Mysterio’s attorney Laurence Clarke stated that Marc and his colleagues had made the entire arrangements for international commercialization of the record for which Brandy was supposed to provide the vocals. He also said that that they are now trying to find out how much profit they would have made had Brandy honored her contract. That is what contracts are for, he concluded.

Marc Mysterio’s single record would have been titled ‘Redemption’. This is not the first time that Brandy has been sued; she had faced a $50 million lawsuit for wrongful death in 2007.
