Botox jabs could cure golfers yips!
March 18th, 2008 - 4:33 pm ICT by admin ( Leave a comment )London, Mar 18 (ANI): Botox not only helps women get rid of those pesky wrinkles, but as it turns out, it can also help top golfers beat those nervous shakes.
Using an 8,000 pounds hi-tech glove to analyse brain waves and muscle activity in hands and wrists, researchers found that golfers yips were mostly due to muscle cramping.
The boffins now believe that Botox, one of the most poisonous naturally occurring substances, might stop these shakes.
To prove their point, American researchers at Arizona State University monitored 50 golfers of which 25 suffered from the yips.
They found that shots of Botox can help players at crucial times.
And since Botox is not considered a performance-enhancing substance, it could well be used in competition. (ANI)
