Oct. 27, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The film ‘The Boondock Saints’, noted for its extreme violence and ’slow-motion blood-letting’, has its sequel lined up to be released on the 30th of October. The ‘Boondock Saints II: All Day Saints’, is once again directed by Troy Duffy. The director is also the screenplay and the story writer. The film sees Sean Patrick Flanery and Norman Reedus returning once again as Irish Brothers. The film is having a limited release, with the U.K release date not known yet.

The movie shows the MacManus brothers returning from Ireland to Boston to bring justice to the killings of their priest, who is killed by the mob. The action/crime/drama/thriller movie, has Clifton Collins Jr. helping them, and Julie Benz (the protege of the FBI agent Paul Smecker), chasing the twins. The movies’ official trailer was released on 2nd Sept of 2009. Also on October 5th, a number of production photos and posters were released through MTV.

The last movie recorded mixed reviews from the critics. However the movie resulted in a cult following and made $74,00,000 by DVD sales. The critics gave the movie a thumbs down with a critic commenting that it was “less a proper action-thriller” than “a series of gratuitously violent set pieces strung together with only the sketchiest semblance of a plot.”

At the MTV newsroom, the start cast of the movie stopped to talk about their upcoming release. Both Flanery and Reedus were seen taking turns to play at the arcade. However they didn’t manage to finish a single round of the ‘Big Buck Safari’, rather they pointed their guns at the Twilight star “Robert Pattinson’s” stand-up, according to sources.
