London, November 16 (ANI): U2 frontman Bono will be among experts who will attend talks aimed at improving Ireland’s efforts to combat world poverty.
The Irish Hunger Task Force will meet in University College Cork. Several renowned economists, aid experts and academics will attend the meeting.
The group will visit Malawi before it makes a report for the Government by next Summer.
Launched in September 2006, the Task Force forms part of Ireland’s efforts to achieve the first Millennium Development Goal of halving poverty and hunger by 2015.
The group will also identify any additional assistance Ireland can provide to battle poverty at international levels.
Bono is part of a panel of experts chaired by Joe Walsh, former Minister for Agriculture, reports the Daily Snack.
The Task Force discussions in Cork are the second set of discussions held by the panel. (ANI)
