New Delhi, Jan 14 (IANS) Be it Holi, Diwali or Makar Sankranti - the film fraterntiy makes it a point to wish its fans on every occasion. For Sankranti and Pongal, they told fans to enjoy the harvest festival by gorging on gur (jagery) and flying kites. “One of my favorite festivals as a child! Loved flying kites atop rooftops watching the vibrant colors in the sky. Freedom!” Dia Mirza posted on micro-blogging site Twitter Friday.
“Holding a kite and setting it free, watching it become a part of the wind and dance upwards up up up in the sky!” she added.
Bollywood actor Ritiesh Deshmukh and director Madhur Bhandarkar wished the fans in a more traditional lingo.
“Happy Makar Sankranti my friends - Til gul ghyaa aani god-god bola (Eat sweets, speak sweetly),” posted Ritesh on the microblogging site.
Bhandarkar echoed him: “Til gul ghya god-god bola! Happy Makar Snakranti.”
As the sun changes its position in the celestial path, farmers across the country bring in the mature crops from the fields on this day and also fly kites.
