Bollywood gung-ho over Hazare’s victory

New Delhi, April 9 (IANS) While the whole nation erupted in joy as veteran Gandhian Anna Hazare broke his 97-hour fast, the Bollywood tweeting brigade rolled up its sleeves and served a volley of messages saluting the 73-year-old.
Filmmaker Pritish Nandy, who Friday flew down to Delhi to participate in the protest demanding a stringent anti-graft bill, posted: “For the first time a new generation of Indians identified with Gandhi and his techniques. While we thought they were outdated!.”
“The fact that Anna galvanised the youth across the nation makes this a great chance to use this youth power for India,” he added.
Versatile actor Anupam Kher posted: “Life is about dreaming and hoping. Today’s VICTORY may not eradicate corruption overnite but it is a great beginning (sic).”
Composer Vishal Dadlani wrote: “If we just stand together like we have with Anna, India will be the greatest nation on earth, for REAL.”
Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar posted: “Congrats to each Indian. Annagiri has worked and democracy wins. One nation one voice. United India lightened India!.”
Ace photographer Atul Kasbekar tweeted: “Anna Hazare, Ralegaon Siddhi, fantastic that a simple man from a place no one can point on a map shakes India in a week!(sic).”
“Incredible to witness the power of the people n that of its united thought! This was d 1st step now for the long march,” he added.
Writer Shobhaa Dee applauded the reformer and posted: “Anna Hazare, Zindabad! Big victory for Young India. U can enjoy the IPL now. u have earned yr entertainment. Become cheerleaders 4 Clean India!”
Many other celebrities like Shilpa Shetty, Bipasha Basu, Purab Kohli too expressed their hapiness and shared their views on the micro-blogging website.
