Bobby McFerrin judged the finale of ‘Sing-Off’

New York City, Dec 22 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Sing-off finale was judged by Shawn Stockman, Bobby McFerrin, Natasha Bedingfield, and Ben Folds. And before the winning group was named, Natasha Bedingfield, Bobby McFerrin, Boyz II Men and Smokey Robinson each perform a capella to thunderous applause. The winner of the show is ‘Nota’. The Beelzebubs came in second and left the stage singing, “We Gotta Get Out of This Place.”

The ‘Sing Off’ finale was a musical journey of 2 hours, in which the groups battled it out for a Sony Music contract and a prize of $100,000. Nick Lachey, who had earlier starred for 2 years in the MTV reality television series Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica with his wife, Jessica Simpson, hosted the show.

The first prize of the Sing off show, went to Nota, a six-man group from San Juan, Puerto Rico. Second place went to the Beelzebubs. They were from Tufts University, Boston, and Massachusetts. Third place went to Voices of Lee, from Lee University, Cleveland, Tennessee. The Sing-Off Finale also included a performance by Smokey Robinson and Boyz II Men.

One of the judges of the show was Bobby McFerrin. He had recorded and sang the hit song, “Don’t Worry be Happy,” released way back in September 1988. It became the first a cappella song to reach number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, a position it held for two weeks.
