Bob Dylan & Clint Eastwood Honored At White House

bobdylan-copyWASHINGTON, Feb 28, (THAINDIAN NEWS) American President Barack Obama showered honors upon yesteryear actor and director Clint Eastwood and singer Bob Dylan with prestigious art awards at the White House on Thursday. White House regarded Bob Dylan to be an “icon of youthful rebellion and poetic sensitivity”. Clint Eastwood’s films were considered to be “essays in individuality, hard truths and the essence of what it means to be American.”

President Barack Obama made it a valid point to add that the careers of these two great artists have come along a long way and paved the way smooth and blissful for the American culture to imbibe upon & prosper. Besides the notable two, Soprano Jessye Norman was also recognized for his outstanding contributions in “broadening contemporary operatic repertoire.” Following that was Maya Lin who earned herself a medal earned achievements in architecture. This included the National Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington. Composer John Williams was also awarded a medal by President Barack Obama for his music compositions in movies like “Star Wars” series and the Olympics soundtrack.

Author and Social activist Elie Wiesel received an award for his works aiming at educating the country on the Holocaust. Alongside Elie Wisel, Michael Tilson Thomas was also honored for his supreme efforts in expanding contemporary music to the audience. The president Barack Obama was delighted as he proclaimed about all American talents which are rich and diversified.

President Barack Obama pointed out how all of them has traversed different paths to success and fulfillment but each one of them is gifted and talented on their own that makes them unique.
