Blur rocker Alex James to make Royal cheese
July 19th, 2009 - 11:15 am ICT by ANIWashington, July 19 (ANI): Blur rocker Alex James has inked a lucrative deal to supply cheese for Prince Charles’ luxury food brand.
The 40-year-old English musician had bought a farm in the countryside and started making his own cheese back in 2003, while the band was on a break.
The Prince of Wales was so impressed by James’ cheese that he decided to sell the product under his Duchy Originals label.
“It will be the poshest cheese in the world but it’s only going to cost 3 pounds. I think everyone should be able to afford royal cheese,” Contactmusic quoted James as saying.
A spokesperson for Prince Charles’ company said, “Duchy Originals is delighted to be working with Alex James, one of Britain’s most exciting and passionate new cheesemakers, to produce a cheese using the milk from the herd of Ayrshire cows on the Duchy Home Farm.” (ANI)
