Blue Peter fans to donate gowns for charity work in India
October 21st, 2009 - 3:14 pm ICT by ANILondon, October 21 (ANI): BBC show Blue Peter has requested its viewers to turn unwanted T-shirts into operation gowns and donate it for a charity work in India.
The programme has joined hands with children’s charity Operation Smile to help conduct life-changing surgery on hundreds of children with cleft lips and palates.
The appeal aims at diverting the cost of gowns priced at 3 pounds each to the 150 pounds cost of another cleft lip op, reports the Scotsman.
The show’s bosses are looking to collect 20,000 gowns in a six-week time period.
The mission can help fund an entire two-week-long medical project in December in Guwahati, India. (ANI)
