wowThe “World of Warcraft” has already stirred a lot of buzz regarding the launch of its forthcoming installment, as fans of the extremely popular game franchise eagerly await the launch of the latest of its mind blowing series. As had been predicted for sometime, Blizzard Entertainment has made the announcement about the next “World of Warcraft” franchise on Friday afternoon, during the opening event at its annual BlizzCon convention, that is being held at Anaheim in California.

The latest of the WOW series expansion is titled “Cataclysm” (which sounds extremely interesting) and is supposed to introduce two new playable races in the game, for both the fronts of the Alliance (Worgen) and the Horde (Goblins), locked in conflict. Among other features, “Cataclysm” is supposed to raise the character level cap up to 85, besides launching an absolute refreshed and revamped version of the Azeroth (which was the setting for the setting where the events of the original “World of Warcraft” took place, way back in 2004), with seven new playing zones. So, there will be ample new character classes and new (hideous) monsters crawling all over the place; and yes, almost hundred new quests for the user to look forward and get lost in.

All those who had attended the event at the BlizzCon 2009 got a chance to have a sneak peak at the stunning trailer of “Cataclysm”, which portrayed the game environment in partial ruins (worn down by such catastrophe as tsunamis, ferocious tidal waves as well as volcanic eruptions, that was triggered by a sleeping dragon rising from beneath the earth). No release date for “Cataclysm” has been set as of now.
