Blast leads to squabble in Malayalam film Industry

May 11, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): The Malayalam film industry has always been divided into two parts – Film Employees Federation of Kerala Association [FEFKA] and Malayalam Cine Technicians Association [MACTA] who often quarrel amongst themselves. This time it’s over a blast which took place early Monday morning on a film shoot at a hotel located at Kuttikanam.
Reportedly, two vehicles have been damaged due to the blast. These vehicles were owned by the crew of Atmakatha, who are a part of FEFKA. This resulted in D. Unnikrishnan, who is the general secretary of FEFKA, to accuse MACTA of the blast by saying, that they have created similar problems in the past and requested the police to investigate the matter fully and punish those found guilty.
A source told Sampurn Wire that MACTA, which is led by Vinayan – a popular director – responded to this with equal hostility. He supposedly retorted by saying that FEFKA has always blamed MACTA for everything which goes wrong.
A similar incident had caused problems at the sets of the film Atmakatha starring the famous actor Sreenivasan almost a month ago at the same location.
The Kerala government has now decided to take this matter in its own hands and resolve this matter as soon as possible!
