Blackberry Torch review
September 22nd, 2010 - 10:30 pm ICT by Sampurn WireSeptember 22, 2010 (Sampurn Wire):The era of smartphone has begun; experts suggest that within a few years all the mobile phone users will be carrying smartphones in their hands. Until now Blackberry has been the favorite email reading device of wall street professionals. However, right now RIM is trying to reinvent their product line so that they can appeal to new demographics.
The Blackberry torch is a full QWERTY vertical touchscreen slider that brings something new to the table. The Blackberry Torch is anything but slim and it does not look apologetic about it. Blackberry is well known for their QWERTY keypads. So we can consider this new phone as a bridge between the conventional QWERTY blackberry and the new age touchscreen phones.
The new phone is positioned as a consumer device but it has all the features like camera, web browser, Multimedia and social feeds. With the screen closed the Torch is 111mm tall, 62mm wide and 14.6mm thick. The phone has a 624 MHz processor but it lacks 3D support. Both the physical and touchscreen keyboard are easy to use. The new Blackberry 6 is snappy and fast, this new mobile OS runs smoothly on the Blackberry Torch.
Social feeds from the user’s Twitter, Facebook can be accessed through the new apps sadly Skype is missing from the scene. The core Blackberry services are still very efficient. Overall the Blackberry Torch is a well rounded handset.
