Black Eyed Peas ‘planning charity concert in Central Park’
March 3rd, 2011 - 6:40 pm ICT by ANINew York, Mar 3 (ANI): The Black Eyed Peas are reportedly planning a charity concert on the Great Lawn in Central Park on June 9.
The band — will.i.am, apl.de.ap, Taboo and Fergie — recently played at the Super Bowl.
“The concert has been set up with Mayor Bloomberg’s office. They want it to rival the concert that Simon and Garfunkel did in Central Park,” the New York Post quoted a source as saying.
In 1981, the duo did a free concert on the Lawn that was attended by more than 500,000 people and later released as an album. (ANI)
