September 18, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Though Sanaya Irani (Gunjan of Miley Jab Hum Tum) is celebrating her birthday today with her family and friends while taking a day off from the shoot, she won’t be receiving any gifts this year. Strangely, Sanaya feels the best gifts are those which the receiver wants and asks for, not the ones which are given just for the sake of it. We asked her to clarify and here’s what she told us at TellyCafe.com, “I think one should gift a person those things which are asked for by the birthday girl or boy. So today on my birthday I have not received any gifts for the reason that I have not asked for any from anyone. Otherwise, I always ask my friends and parents to gift me what I want. If they bring something for me with out asking then I don’t consider that as my gifts.”

Err… we didn’t know how to respond to that one, so she further elaborated. “This year I feel like God has already given me so many great things. I have my health, my family and friends, my work… those are the best gifts! Everything else is just… materialistic.” Now that sounds more like the sweet and positive Sanaya we know! “I love flowers and chocolates and that will be accepted by me at any occasion. So today I have lots of bouquets at my place,” adds the birthday girl.

So is Ms. Irani so content in life that she doesn’t want anything this birthday?? “Well… there is one thing that I want but I can’t ask for it from anyone, so I’m not saying anything,” says Sanaya. Upon further prodding, she finally revealed, “What I really want this year is a house. But that’s not something anyone else can give me.”

Oh… Sanaya, you could have at least tried to ask… don’t forget that you have lots of admirers in this world!
