Billie Joe Armstrong joins ‘American Idiot’ on Broadway for a week
September 28th, 2010 - 12:50 am ICT by Aishwarya BhattSep 27 (THAINDIAN NEWS) It’s a treat for theater lovers as this week they can catch ‘American Idiot’ rock musical on Broadway. The Broadway musical track is inspired by the terror attack of September 11 and dedicated to American society. The key attraction for this week is Green Day singer Billie Joe Armstrong, who is performing a special role of St. Jimmy in the musical. It is sure going to be a treat for all Green Day fans, to see Billie Joe Armstrong in the musical.
During a press release the band’s rep announced the casting. It was disclosed that Tony Vincent would not be able to make it for sometime, due to some personal family matters and Green Day’s singer Billie would fill in. According to the producers of the show Tony Vincent has announced his leave for from 28th September till 12th of October. And Billie Joe would be temporarily replacing him.
The Grammy Award winner will be taking a role of persuasive drug dealer for eight performances from 28th September to 3rd of October.
Later Billie would head for a Green Day tour to Venezuela. Billie said he happy to perform for the live audience as its different experience playing over stage than in the studio.
