New York City, May 6 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Variety.com has reported that Bill Murray is officially confirmed for a role in the historical drama “Hyde Park on Hudson.” The report say Murray will play the role of former President Franklin D. Roosevelt in the movie. The movie is the production of Focus Features Intl. who says they will showcase the project next week at the Cannes.

The drama is based on real life events. It follows the visit of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth to the United States in 1939. Daisy was the former President’s distant cousin.

Production of the movie has not been announced but the report stated that the script has been completed and the movie will be directed by Roger Michell. The report said Kevin Loader and David Aukin will be the producers of the movie.

Getting Murray onboard proved to be quite a challenge. Due to the fact that Murray has no agent, Variety reports that it took Focus about a year to locate and communicate with him.
