Washington, Feb 20 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Monica Lewinsky scandal was one of the most defining moments in the life of the United States and Bill Clinton in particular. On Monday, the first part of a documentary on the issue will be aired on PBS.

The four-hour documentary dubbed “Clinton” will reveal the public and private life of the former president. More than 40 minutes of the documentary will be about the infamous affair which rocked the White House and nearly led to the second impeachment in the history of the United States.

Creator Barak Goodman explained that, “How (can) such a brilliant man do things like the Monica Lewinsky affair? …. How can such a sort of politically-savvy person make these kinds of errors?…What I came to understand over the course of a lot of thinking and studying is that these two parts of Clinton are irreconcilable. They’re both part of who he is and they explain fundamentally what happened to him. But you can’t ever resolve them and sort of explain how, put them together and integrate them into one thing. They both coexist in the same man.”

The film however fails to touch on several other major issues during the administration of Clinton. The 1993 World Trade Center bombing and the rise of Osama bin Laden along with the Al Qaeda bombings of two US embassies in East Africa.

The documentary will also be aired in the United Kingdom.
