Sep 26, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Keanu Reeves has revealed at the last week’s Toronto Film Festival that the third installment of the cult classic “Bill & Ted” is in talks. While most fans brushed aside the news as another rumor, Alex Winter, his co-star in the original, confirmed the news to the media. Alex Winter said that the script of the film was almost finished and it was a project he and Keanu Reeves is keen to complete.

Alex Winter said that they will not be considering their age while playing the characters. He revealed that the interesting part of the new production will be that he and the “Matrix” star will be playing the same roles in spite of the original movie being released 21 years ago. The 1989 film saw the two actors surge in popularity and made a huge Hollywood star of Keanu Reeves. Alex Winter on the other hand ventured into film direction and has recently lent his voice to animation films.

Another factor that Alex Winter spoke about is the character of Rufus which was played by the late George Carlin. Alex Winter said that it was difficult to make the film without the time traveling Rufus who was so integral to the theme of the film. He said that the matter was delicate and they were trying their best to adjust without him. He has, however, confirmed that they are not going to recast the character in the new movie. The film revolves around two high school slackers who hold the key to the future. The character of Rufus travels back in time to keep them together and form the band who will be the key to the society of the future.
